Welche Daten wir verarbeiten
Wenn Sie sich in der MIMIC Demo ein Material zuschicken lassen, speichern wir:
- Ihre E-Mail-Adresse
- die gewählte Kombination aus Material, Erscheinungsbild und Stil
- die Sprache der Oberfläche
- Ihre IP-Adresse und die Browserkennung (User-Agent)
- den Zeitpunkt der Anfrage und, bei erteilter Einwilligung, den Zeitpunkt der Bestätigung
- ob Sie das Einwilligungskästchen angekreuzt haben, und den genauen Wortlaut, dem Sie zugestimmt haben (Versionskennung)
Beim Aufruf der Website protokolliert unser Webserver zusätzlich IP-Adresse, Zeitpunkt, aufgerufene Adresse und User-Agent. Diese Protokolle werden nach 30 Tagen automatisch gelöscht.

Die Angabe Ihrer E-Mail-Adresse ist erforderlich, um Ihnen das Material zu senden. Die Einwilligung in weitere Informationen ist freiwillig und keine Bedingung für den Erhalt des Materials.
Double Opt-in
Kreuzen Sie das Kästchen an, senden wir Ihnen eine zweite E-Mail mit einem Bestätigungslink. Erst wenn Sie diesen anklicken, gilt die Einwilligung als erteilt. Klicken Sie ihn nicht an, wird der gesamte Datensatz nach 30 Tagen automatisch gelöscht und Sie erhalten keine weiteren Nachrichten.
Empfänger und Auftragsverarbeiter
Hetzner Online GmbH, Deutschland – Betrieb des Servers, Speicherung der Bilddateien in unserer Nextcloud-Instanz sowie Versand unserer E-Mails. Ein Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag nach Art. 28 DSGVO liegt vor.
Eine Übermittlung in Drittländer außerhalb der EU bzw. des EWR findet nicht statt.
Zugriff auf Ihr Material
Die Bilddatei liegt unter einer zufällig erzeugten, nicht erratbaren Adresse. Diese Adresse ist nicht zusätzlich passwortgeschützt: Wer den Link besitzt, kann die Datei abrufen. Leiten Sie die E-Mail weiter, geben Sie damit auch den Zugriff weiter.
Speicherdauer
- Nicht bestätigte Einwilligungen: 30 Tage. Danach wird der gesamte Datensatz automatisch gelöscht.
- Anfragen ohne Einwilligung: 12 Monate. Danach ist der Zweck – Zusendung des Materials und eine Rückmeldung dazu – erfüllt und der Datensatz wird automatisch gelöscht.
- Bestätigte Einwilligungen: bis zu Ihrem Widerruf. Danach löschen wir Ihre Daten und bewahren den Nachweis der Einwilligung noch drei Jahre auf, um etwaige Ansprüche abwehren zu können (Verjährungsfrist nach § 195 BGB).
- Server-Protokolle: 30 Tage.
Ihre Rechte
Sie haben das Recht auf Auskunft (Art. 15 DSGVO), Berichtigung (Art. 16), Löschung (Art. 17), Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18), Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20) sowie Widerspruch gegen Verarbeitungen auf Grundlage von Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (Art. 21 DSGVO).
Eine erteilte Einwilligung können Sie jederzeit mit Wirkung für die Zukunft widerrufen (Art. 7 Abs. 3 DSGVO), ohne dass dies den Erhalt Ihres Materials berührt. Eine formlose Nachricht an datenschutz@saueressig.com genügt.
Ferner steht Ihnen ein Beschwerderecht bei einer Aufsichtsbehörde zu (Art. 77 DSGVO), insbesondere im Mitgliedstaat Ihres Aufenthaltsorts, Ihres Arbeitsplatzes oder des Orts des mutmaßlichen Verstoßes. Für unseren Sitz zuständig ist die Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
Keine automatisierte Entscheidungsfindung
Eine automatisierte Entscheidungsfindung einschließlich Profiling nach Art. 22 DSGVO findet nicht statt. Die Demo erzeugt nichts aus Ihren Eingaben; sie ordnet Ihrer Auswahl ein bereits vorhandenes Musterbild zu.

What we process
When you request a material through the MIMIC Demo we store:
- your email address
- the combination of material, appearance and style you selected
- the interface language
- your IP address and browser identification (user agent)
- the time of the request and, where consent was given, the time it was confirmed
- whether you ticked the consent box, and the exact wording you agreed to (version identifier)
Our web server additionally logs your IP address, the time, the address requested and the user agent. Those logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Providing your email address is necessary for us to send you the material. Consent to further updates is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving it.
Double opt-in
If you tick the box we send a second email containing a confirmation link. Consent takes effect only when you follow that link. If you do not, the entire record is deleted automatically after 30 days and you receive nothing further.
Recipients and processors
Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany – operation of the server, storage of the image files in our Nextcloud instance, and delivery of our email. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.
No transfer to third countries outside the EU/EEA takes place.
Access to your material
The image file sits at a randomly generated, unguessable address. That address is not additionally password protected: anyone holding the link can retrieve the file. Forwarding the email forwards the access with it.
Retention
- Unconfirmed consents: 30 days. The entire record is then deleted automatically.
- Requests without consent: 12 months. After that the purpose – sending the material and one follow-up about it – is spent and the record is deleted automatically.
- Confirmed consents: until you withdraw. We then delete your data and keep the record of consent for a further three years in order to defend against possible claims (limitation period under § 195 BGB).
- Server logs: 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).
Consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR) without affecting receipt of your material. An informal message to datenschutz@saueressig.com is sufficient.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The authority competent for our seat is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
No automated decision-making
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. The demo generates nothing from your input; it matches your selection to an image that already exists.
